Snipe tax
A tax on buys in a Model V2 launch's first seconds: at its maximum in the launch second, halving down to zero within the window. Model V1 uses wallet and transaction caps in the token instead.
snipeBps(t) = snipeTaxStartBps >> floor(t × 14 / snipeTaxSeconds)
The tax halves fourteen times across the window and is zero once it ends.
t is the seconds since the launch transaction.
- Both terms are recorded by the curve in the launch transaction. Later changes apply to new launches only.
- Here
snipeTaxStartBpsis 9900 (99%) and the window 5 seconds. The ceilings are 99% and 60 seconds. - It is measured on the recipient, not the signer.
buy(quoteIn, minTokensOut, recipient)checks the rate and the exemptions againstrecipient;currentSnipeTaxBps(recipient)returns what that address would pay now. - The rate is capped so that
feeBps + creatorTaxBps + snipeBpsstays below 100%: a taxed buy always returns tokens. - Exempt by default: the launching account and the creator fee recipient. Up to 32 more addresses can be exempted at launch.
- The snipe tax is not burned. It joins the base fee and is split by the launch's fee policy: 30% protocol, 70% creator.
Read the exemption list before you buy
Exempt wallets buy at the untaxed price in the first seconds, the same effect as a bundle. The list is in the launch transaction.
